Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is caused by nerve damage and usually causes numbness and pain in the feet and hands. The pain is frequently described as “burning” or “tingling”. Neuropathy can also affect movement and muscle strength. There are a number of reasons one might develop neuropathy such as diabetes (one of the most common), metabolic problems, traumatic injuries, infections and exposure to toxins.
Although symptoms usually get worse slowly over time, they can be treated and improve if the right underlying condition is found.
